Ok, back in Feb. I noticed that after I had sex w/ my ex bf I started itching really bad "down there" and then i noticed i had a lil bump - wart like. this itchin continued until a month ago when i went to the gyno. and got checked. all my std test came back negative. i took some antibotic something that he said should help bc he thought I had trich. but then i went back a few weeks later for my pap smear and it came back negative. What I've read on here I thought I might have HPV... but shouldnt my pap come back w/ something that should tell them I needed to get tested for that?? & So... is it ok for me to have any kinda of sexual contact w/ a guy or should i go and get tested somewhere else? I havent really noticed anymore itching since i took the antibotics but Im still worried of passing something on to someones mouth or genitals.
Please give me some input on the situation if u can. thanks!

Hi suzag8, welcome!

>> ... all my std test came back negative. i took some antibotic something that he said should help bc he thought I had trich <<

I'm confused... how is it that if all your STD tests came back negative your doctor thought you had Trichomoniasis which is an STD?

>>is it ok for me to have any kinda of sexual contact w/ a guy or should i go and get tested somewhere else? I havent really noticed anymore itching since i took the antibotics but Im still worried of passing something on to someones mouth or genitals.<<

It’s really good that you are asking these questions. I can’t tell you that you are ok because I don’t know what you were tested for and how often you have been tested. Some STDs, like HIV, take months after being infected before enough antibodies are built-up that they will register positive on tests. The best person for you to ask that question of is your doctor. And when you do be sure you get a clear answer and that s/he answers any other questions you might have if more treatment or precautions are necessary.

Some STDs are: Hepatitis B Virus, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Trichomoniasis, Genital Herpes, Human Papillomavirus. You might want to be sure you have been tested for the full range of STDs.

There are many different types of HPV. I think a pap test looks for only the types that can cause cervical cancer not for the types that can cause itching, warts and bumps on the genitals.

Thanks for posting. Let us know what your doctor says and how you’re doing, ok?

Good luck,
