UPLIFT uterine suspension procedure

I have been sexually active since I was 19. I have had 6 partners and I have been in severe pain with each of them. I just recently got up the nerve to go to a doctor and was diagnosed with having a tilted uterus. I was told to change positions and I would not feel any more pain. Well, that didn't work and now I am in a committed loving relationship with a man that I love very much. So I want to remedy this horrible problem for good.
I was doing some research and found this UPLIFT uterine suspension procedure that I want to undergo that will end my pain by "uplifting" my uterus and make it not tilted anymore. Has anyone heard of this procedure or even had this procedure. I'd like to hear from some women and give their account of the surgery before, during and after.
Thanks.

Hi j_marie23, welcome!
A woman whose uterus is tipped or retroverted can often have pain free intercourse if she is penetrated from behind. If you have tried that and it hasn’t worked are you sure your uterus hasn’t slipped down (prolapsed) pushing your cervix further into your vagina?
If you are suffering from Collision Dyspareunia because of a tipped uterus where your partner’s penis hits your cervix causing pain during sexual intercourse you might want to ask your doctor first about trying a pessary to see if it minimizes your pain. A pessary can sometimes be felt by your partner. That will depend on your and your partner’s anatomies and the size of the pessary needed. A pessary might be a first step to see if it eliminates your pain before you decide on surgery.
If you are seriously considering the Uplift procedure if I were you I would get a second medical opinion from an experienced Gyn to see if s/he considers you a good candidate for the procedure or not.
You might also want to post your question on the iVillage Gynecology board http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-bhgynconcern where members may have more experience with the Uplift repositioning procedure. Thanks for posting. I hope other members will stop by to share their experiences. Let us know what you decide and how you’re doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
Thank you so much, I will talk to my gyn about that. I would love to avoid surgery.
Thanks again!
