For the past year i have only had one sexual partner. We never use a condom, but i am aware that you may get pregant even if the man doesn't ejaculate inside of you. What i would like to know are what other risks am i taking without using a condom besides stds, or pregnancy??? Does having sex without a condom make you more capable of getting a yeast infection?? if not what are some other risks? thank you for your time.

I guess it could make you more prone to yeast infections and bacterial infections as well as urinary tract infections.

Hi g_boo,

Some hormonal contraceptives can cause some women to have more YIs. Did you start or change BCPs about the time you began having more frequent YIs? Have you had a medical diagnosis so you are sure you are treating the problem with the correct medicine?

For a good article on YIs see: Vaginal Yeast Infections: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001511.htm and

Yeast Infections and Yogurt: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001964.htm

If you have more questions, please ask. Do let us know how you’re doing, ok?

Good luck,
