Extreme pain post sex

Immediately after a sexual encounter last night, I experienced extreme pain in the pelvic area, such that I was unable to move without it igniting even more. This morning it was better enough to move around, but the pain is still severe and still persistent. It feels like someone kicked me on the inside, with the majority of the pain located inside, right below my belly button. Sometimes a blinding flash of pain occurs which is very crippling. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. I wanted to ask if anyone has ever experienced this so I can get a perspective of whether or not I should be worried. Please respond with your comments and/or suggestions. Thanks!!

The technical term for pain with intercourse is Dyspareunia.

I am not a doctor or anything like that so I am just going off of my own experience. I use to have pain after sex just like you described. Sometimes the pain would flare up and sometimes it wouldn't be there at all. I went to the doctor and through surgery found out that I have endometriosis and also a tilted uterus. The only way to get diagnosed with endometriosis is through a laproscopic procedure where they go through your belly button and look around.Do you have very painful periods? Or if you use the restroom do have an intense pain? These are possible signs of endometriosis. I don't want to scare you so please go to your doctor and talk to them about this. I know it might be embarassing at first but finding out what the problem is will be a huge weight lifted off your shoulders. You might want to try different positions. Doggie Style is what is reccomended for women with endometriosis. If you have any questions regarding this disease please feel free to contact me. I hope I have helped!

heh... doggy style hurts the most! There was only a moment's pain during intercourse and most of the pain occurred afterwards. It was strange because this was this first time in 12 years that I had experienced such pain! And the first time in 2 years with this specific person...

It felt like he simply was too large and "stabbed" me. There was blood as a result. The good news is that it doesn't hurt as much now, but I think I will still seek medical attention.

Thank you.

Hi jonesgirl79,

I agree with the other posters that you should see your doctor. I hope you find out what's going on. Let us know what s/he says, ok?

Good luck and hugs,
