Condoms a problem

Hey, guys. I'm back.

It has frequently been a problem for my guy to maintan an erection while wearing a condom. The first time we had sex, the condom slipped off (but we don't know at what point) and he was able to ejaculate. Because of that incident, we switched condoms. We've been using that type for awhile (about 6 weeks now), and he seems to have trouble maintaining an erection (to the point of ejaculation) in those. The past 5 times we've tried to have sex, he's lost it. So we tried switching to another brand, which he says almost completely desesintizes him. He says he's doing everything he knows to do and he just can't feel anything.

He says this didn't happen with the other girl he's been with, but there was something different there- they used polyurethane condoms.

If condoms are desensitizing him, then it seems that the options are to go without condoms (which kind of scares me, even though I know we're STD-free and I'm on BC) or switch to polyurethane (which scares me too because I've heard they're not as effective as latex). Barring some kind of physical or stress issue being the cause, what are our other options? Has anybody else had this problem and could recommend a brand of condom that did not desensitize?

I appreciate your help in this, guys.

Thanks, Jill. Just a question- when you didn't use condoms, did your guy pull out? That's what my boyfriend and I have been thinking to do, in case we go that route. I know that, technically, it's not deterring anything since some things can be in pre-cum, but since I'm on the Apri- and being very good about taking it- that would be ok, right?
