Assisted Hatching?

Hi All! I am a grad from 2008. I lived on this board through my journey, and I found a great deal of information, encouragement and support here. That is why I have come back to see if anyone can share some experience or information with me.
I was very fortunate to have success with my first IVF cycle, (after trying several other interventions). I had 6 extra embies on ice. We tried one frozen cycle in September with no luck. 2 of 3 embies survived the thaw, and both were transferred.
We are ready to try again with our last 3 embryos. The RE today suggested we try assisted hatching. Have any of you done this procedure? I would love to hear from anyone who has experience or who has researched this topic.

Hi there,
We did AH with our last cycle and will with this one as well.
Welcome back!
We were supposed to do AH with my FET, but then the blasts started hatching on their own. It's supposed to increase pregnancy rates a little, I think, and so I was all for it! We had gotten a BFN on our fresh cycle, so I think this was one of the results--to recommend AH.
They did say that it increases your chances, slightly, of having identical twins. Interesting to know, huh?

Thanks everyone for the responses. My DH and I talked it over, and we are gonna go for it. It is nice to try something different, to keep hope alive.
This will most likely be our last chance at a sibling for our DD, since we cannot afford another fresh cycle, and I "ain't gettin' any younger!"
Thanks again! Best wishes to you all.

Thanks for all the info guys! I actually am about to start my second rounds of IVF with Lupron and Gonal F and was told we need to do ICIS and assisted hatching. Hey it cost $500 compared to the thousands and thousands we are already paying so it is a drop in the bucket LOL (PS using humor so I don't go crazy).
