Hi all,
I've been a participating member of another IV board for a little over a year and looked here when I started to look for support for my newest journey. My mom passed away on 5/4 after nearly a month in ICU due to complications surrounding what was to be a fairly straightfoward surgery that was to keep her in the hospital for 3-5 days. Needless to say, my entire family is stunned and we are exhausted from the long days of the hospitalization, the difficult, heartwrenching decisions we faced and then the funeral and all that jazz. I am still just numb. I know this is going to be a long journey for me as I was very close to my mom and just can't believe that this has happened to her, my dad and our family.

Anyway, I am definitely an information gatherer by nature and am just starting to explore this thing called grieving/bereavement and was wondering what books you might have found helpful in your various journey's. I've got a couple on hold for me at the library that I'll go grab tonight but your suggestions would be very welcome.

Thanks!

Peg

Dear Peg,
I am sending you many Hugs and Prayers to help you through this difficult time in your life. It is hard to lose a parent, I too have lost both of my parents.Several years ago I lost my son, he was twenty-two years old and that was the worse pain I have ever been through, A friend gave me the book" Embraced by The Light" by Betty J. Eadie. Since I started to read this book, she has wrote several more that concur with the first, sort of like a series through out her life and things that helped her thru her loss's. Good luck and I hope you find the right book that will help you heal your borken heart. I am glad you found us here, plese feel free to write any time. We have all lost some one at some time in our life. Please take care of yourself that is so inportant in healing.

May God Bless You
~Deborah~

Peg

I am Beth, one of the cls here. I always feel weird welcoming people to this board, since I know that no one wants to be here. But I do welcome you. Know that we are here, and care.

I don't know of any books off hand. Barb, the other cl, is busy moving, she will post some when she can

(((((Peg))))))

I am so sorry for your loss. I do know that Barb has recommended a book called Motherless Daughters. I haven't had a chance to pick it up yet, but I still plan to. If you go down to a folder called motherless daughters, it is listed there.

Please take care of yourself. I lost my mom 2 years ago Dec of 2004. It is hard and just know that we are here for you with a million and one cyber hugs.

Love ya
Gail
