They started my sister on morphine now. Some of you might remember me, I have a sister who is 21 years old and lives in a nursing home. She has muscular dystrophy.
I am having a hard time dealing with the fact that they are giving her morphine now. It feels like a last step to me. I don't want her to be in pain, but I don't want it to be at the point where there is nothing to do but keep her comfortable.
This hurts too much. I cannot lose my (younger) sister.
And to add too it, I live 6 hours away. I am an in home daycare provider. In addition to my 3 kids (age 4, 2 y 9 months, and 9 months old) I watch an almost 4 year old girl and her little brother who is 4 months old and has spina bifida. It is too close to home and raw to watch what the family is going through with the baby.

All I can say is...I have been where you are and it stinks! I will try and write more later.
Honey, I am so sorry to learn this.
