Does anyone know what the causes are of an unbalance in the PH of the vagina which could lead to yeast infections? Could very frequent washing be a culprit?
Thanks!

There are a lot of things that could cause an imbalance in your vagina therefore causing yeast infections. Hormonal imbalance, the birth control pill, too much moisture, douching, eating too much sugar, dirty objects or hands, allergies to latex or other substances, a partner with an infection....There's really to many ot list. But, those are the major ones. This is why it's so difficult to pinpoint what causes recurring infections.
Frequent external washing would probably not do it. Try not to use anti-bacterial soap though. That can kill the good bacteria that keeps the yeast in check.
Please ask if you have anymore questions!

It's up to you if you want to stop the pill. I stopped taking it back in November and it took about 6 or 7 months for my body to get back to normal. Normal as in no yeast infections! I always seemed to get them around my period. Do you? If so, then it's probably caused by hormones.
Something to discuss with your doctor!
