Bladder Infection treatment?

Can you tell me how much ampicilin I should be taking for my bladder infection? I was given 500 mg pills, 2/day, does that right? (I am always afraid of taking more antibiotics than necessary) Are there any non-antibiotic remedys that work?
Also, I know that Cranberry Juice is suppose to help but I hate it. I have since heard that drinking alot of water helps. Is this true? I haven't had one for several years.

Thank you in advance.

As far as the amount of antibiotics, I'm going to have to trust your doctor and pharmacist on this one. If you're not sure, ask another doctor or pharmacist and they should be able to help you!
