What causes a light period?
| Thu, 08-28-2003 - 2:00am |
I am 22 years old and have always had normal periods and have been on the pill for 4 years. Last week my period was abnormally light, although it lasted the normal 4 days and I had a normal amount of cramping if not more than usual. What can cause this to happen? Is it stress-related or due to an increase in exercise? Or is it a sign of pregnancy?
Any help would be appreciated!

Since you're on the pill, I wouldn't worry about a light period. When I was on the pill, sometimes my period would be lighter. Sometimes it would start late. Stress and increased exercise could play a part. Even though you're on the pill, your body still continues to change so your period could change from month to month.
Try waiting till next month and see what happens! Of course, if you're really worried about it, call your doctor. It certainly can't hurt to check in!
Take care,
Kristin
