some pain during sex/other concerns....

Hi. I have a couple of concerns. Here is my background: I'm 28, married for 2 years and have been off the birth control pill since February. We are now just starting out trying to conceive. Ever since being off the pill, I've noticed alot more acne occurring and it won't go away. I've heard that it could be a cause of being off the pill, but I've also just recently noticed some dark upper lip hair, enough to where i had it waxed off! I've never had that before. My other concern is for the past month or so, almost every time we have sex, there's either pelvic pain during or right after sex. It's more like a feeling of pressure low in my pelvis, mainly on my right side. It's not as severe every time but enough to cause worry because I only have one ovary, my left one was removed when I was 17 due to an ovarian cyst. They also removed the fallopian tube and some smaller cysts on my right. My last GYN appt was good, and he thinks I should be fine w/conceiving. Would it be advised to call my dr. again considering the sudden pain along w/the unusual hair growth? I'm worried because I've read that pain and possibly the hair growth could be a sign of a cyst or tumor producing too much adrogen(the male hormone). Thanks for your advice!

Welcome Jenny!

Since you've been off the pill since February, it should be out of your system by now. I'm assuming you didn't have acne before you went off the pill. It sounds like something's going on hormonally, with the hair growth and acne.

If it would ease your mind, then go see your doctor. Request an ultrasound and see what's going on down there. If it's nothing, then you can stop worrying! If it's something, then it can be fixed right away.

Good luck with your TTC journey!

Kristin
