Ovarian cyst..please help!

I am 42 years old with a history of endometriosis. Twice in the past year and half I have been told I have a small 2cm cyst on lt ovary.First time was 5/02.I saw 2 drs after that, they both said "don't worry about it,it is normal to have these".I did worry,in fact,I must have seen the drs 3 times after that for exams because I was so convinced I had ovarian cancer. They kept telling me not to worry that my "ovaries felt fine".In June,we were transferred to another state.I saw another dr.Aug 1st! he listened to my fears and did an exam said "everything feels perfectly normal",but to make you feel better,I will do an ultrasound today. He came in the room with the tech to look at it himself. It showed a small 2cm on lt ovary. He said it was "follicular/functional and not to give it another thought. He said no need to see me for a year.I am still worried--constantly.Has anyone else gone through this? Can an ultrasond really tell them it is not cancer?

Cysts are very normal and most women get them at some time in their life. They are usually harmless and nothing to worry about. Having a cyst in no way suggest you do or will ever have ovarian cancer. I have had cysts and they haven't done me any harm at all.
