Hello, I'm new to this board. I just had my pap smear in August and it came back abnormal again. I had one in January come back abnormal and then in February I had a colposcopy which came back with cervicitis. I don't think my endo will effect a pap so what the heck!! The nurse said that with my history my doc just wants me to come back in 4 months for a repeat pap. THey don't want to do another colposcopy now for some reason. Thats fine b/c I had a huge allergic reaction to the vinegar stuff. I had horrible chemical burns down yonder. Anyhow, any suggestions?? I use the NuvaRing as a cbcp and it slips and when I push it back in it hurts so I'm thinking my cervix is irritated. Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the board!

I'm sorry you're going through this. I can see why the doctor would be reluctant to do another colposcopy since you had such a bad reaction to the last one. He probably wants to wait 4 months and see if it will clear up on it's own. Sometimes they do!

Has this all started since you started the ring? Just wondering. Did they give you any suggestions as to what may be causing the infections?

I hope it all works out for you! Take care of yourself!

Kristin,

Thanks for getting back to me so quick. I just started the ring 4-5 weeks ago. THe docs office really didn't say why I keep having these problems. I guess they said that the first pap after a colposcopy is usually abnormal. I'm not sure why I keep getting the infections, but I will ask at my next appt. I love the ring except for it slipping occasionally. I was on alot of bc pills and had break thru bleeding for 2 months straight. It was horrible. I haven't had any bleeding at all on the ring. Just out of curiosity, if I went from Ovcon35 to the ring (which is a much lower dose) is there a possibilty that I could have gotten pregnant?? I've been very nauseous and extremely bloated. I never missed a pill and have used my ring correctly. Maybe it's just my IBS or something. ANyhow, thanks sooo much. Heather

As long as you weren't hormone free for more than 7 days, you should be covered. I'm glad the ring is working out for you. I think I've seen you on the birth control board. So many women there rave about it!

The nausea and bloating could be from your IBS. I'm sure you know, if you're really concerned about pregnancy, take a test!
