I am curious about how long most of you experience breast tenderness?

My current cycle has me really puzzled. I began to experience breast tenderness on CD18 and they havent stopped yet. My cycle this time was 32 days long. Now I am on my new cycle CD 3 and they still are really sore? I am not sure what is going on. I had to buy a new bigger bra and I wonder if maybe I am just having an age related shift in my breasts and cycles? I am going to be 28 this month. I am just wondering when my dang breasts will stop hurting. I can't sleep on my stomach, and I can't go to YOGA because I can't do any of the postures that have you laying on your stomach.

What do you ladies experience with breast tenderness? Is this normal? I did just have my annual on the 27th and there was nothing odd about my exam or my breast exam. I am just kind of getting tired of my breasts hurting for 16 days straight. It seems a little long to me.

HELP/ADVICE? anyone?

Hey Dragonfly Gal!

I also have breast tenderness every month. It's such a drag, isn't it? Mine usually hurt for about the week before my period and until it starts. Your soreness seems unusual. Especially having to buy a bigger bra! I gather it has not been like this before.

Is this a normal period for you? Is it any different than it usually is? My first question is, could you be pregnant? Many women experience breast soreness and swelling right away and it doesn't go away for a couple weeks. Some women will also bleed during the time they would normally have a period, even though they are pregnant. But, the bleeding is usually lighter and darker. If there's no chance, then something hormonal is going on and it would be really difficult to pinpoint what it could be. That would require a trip to your doctor.

So, what do you think? I hope I've helped a little bit!

Kristin

Well my recent cycles have been 29 days, 34 days and this one has been 32 days. I think they are routinely longer. This flow seems normal to me? It is pretty red and dark. i am not sure I ovulated this last cycle or if I did I missed it. I have been testing with ovulation strips to begin to chart my ovulation etc. for TTC in about a year.

I began to have cramps and major back pain on CD 9 through CD 26 or so and the breast soreness. I have been having a lot of annoying headaches, and I have one right now. But here is the kicker. My DH has a vasectomy. I doubt I am pregnant. However just last month we decided to reverse his vasectomy. Now i know that this means little...but my DH would probably grow his tubies together just by his sheer will. He has determination LOL!

But I am not sure what to think. I guess that I can test to see, just to make sure all is well in there. I did have an ovarian cyst about 2 years ago and my new OBGYN wants me to have an ultra-sound to take a look at my ovaries. Who knows. what I remember from the cyst was that my BB's hurt but not for this length of time. Maybe that is why I didn't ovulate?

Very odd. I do think that this is not normal for anyone, expecially me.

It's funny you should mention all of this. I also track my temp and cervical fluid because I use the Fertility Awareness Method for birth control. I'm on cd24 and have not ovulated! But, my breast don't hurt at all and they should be! I know I'm not pregnant because my temp is way too low.

Well, if your hubby has a vasectomony, it's unlikely but not impossible. At least your open to the possibility!

A cyst could cause all these crazy things to happen as well. Our ovaries are what control the level of progesterone and estrogen. When I had a cyst for the first time, I thought I was pregnant! Sore breasts, nausea, dizziness. And I was on the pill at that time! I don't know if a cyst will cause you not to ovulate. We might be in the same boat here!

My doctors appointment isn't until 9/22. If you get in earlier, please come back and share!

Well that is the funny thing. I went to my Dr. on the 20th for my first visit. I changed OBGYN's and now I am seeing a naturopathic Dr. so the first visit is pretty long and full of a lot of questions. I had at that time been to the urgent care place because I thought my back pain could mean that I had a UTI. i had a frequent urge to pee at the time, but due to how early in my cycle it was I was not tested for pregnancy. I didn't have an infection in my kidneys or my bladder. I also had my back and my neck adjusted for pain and headaches and that didn't do it. I had my pelvic/ breast exam on the 27th. My OBGYN wants me to have an ultra-sound to look at my ovaries. Who knows. I just can't believe how long and how sore my BB's have been. They itch a lot too! and feel hot?

Who knows. I am scheduling the ultra-sound today and for the heck of it I guess I will take a pregancy test. I would do backflips if I was pregnant...it would mean we didn't have to pay for the reversal LOL!!!! But I think that is a pretty slim chance.

Thanks for your response.
