Okay ladies...first thanks for all of your compassion and bluntness on this site...I really feel we need to be advocates for ourselves at times and this site is just a wonderful place to start.

Anyway, I have a vaginal specialist for my VVS (vulvar vestibulitis syndrome)(won't get into that) and a regurlar GYN for rountine "maintainance" if you will. However, the vaginal specialist tends to know more about the vagina then the GYN and of all the rare disorders that GYN's just don't even consider when your on the brink of a breakdown spread eagle in their office for the fourth time in like a month or two.

Soooooo, I went to my specialist two days ago and said WHY ARE MY YEAST INFECTIONS NOT GOING AWAY? WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? Mind you, this has been going on for 2 years (off and on). In fact, my VVS is most likely the cause of repeated use of vaginal creams, ie monostat, gynozol, terazol....you name it. Finally, a light bulb went off in her head, and she said I may have an VAGINAL EXFOLIATION DISORDER which is distinctive of redness, irritation and a whiteish, clumpy discharge....sort of like yeast only the itch is not so prevelent. So, I am starting treatment this month and I will update you all on the results.

Anyone having persistent trouble like I, may want to ask their doctor about this "exfoliation disorder"....essentially, my vagina is over active and exfoliates all the time. It is the built in "cleaning" system for your vagina.

If anyone has any questions....please ask. thanks for reading and good luck to all :)

Sincerely,

Christa

Hey There! I have been suffering with yeast for about a year now and have been to 5 different doctors, who just keep prescribing, diflucan, terazol, even having me insert boric acid. I have tried all of the alternatives, acidophilus, garlic, no sugar,no carbs, and still want go away. I am miserable most of the time, and had never had yeast before until now. Please let me know how your treatments go? I have never heard of that before? Thanks Sheila
