Help - DC/MD area OB/GYN

I've just gotten a new insurance plan that allows me to see any OB/GYN. I used to just go to student health services, but now I've graduated and need a new doctor. I plan to stay in the DC/MD area and need to find a permanent OB/GYN. Important - my fiance and I plan to have children eventually, so I'm looking for more than just a yearly check-up. I'd like to find a good, recommended doctor to see me through all my OB/GYN issues. Any suggestions?

I just found a really good one (I went to her for a yearly check-up in May)- she was recommended to me by my family doc (my family doc is one of the top 100 doctors as rated by Baltimore Magazine). Not knowing where you live, I will just say that the OBGYN I refer to has an office in Eldersburg, Maryland ( south Carroll County). If that is an acceptable distance for you, e-mail me and I'd be happy to give you her name and #. Schrecken13@hotmail.com

P.S. if you e-mail me, please mention Ivillage in the subject or it may end up in the junk folder.

I think the best way to find a Dr is ask around.. even women you aren't really good friends with, but someone that you know that has had kids or even someone. I know if I had a Dr I liked and someone asked me I would be happy to give information out. If you aren't that bold.. you can ask the local hospitals, they can give referrals.

Good Luck,

Gin :)
