I am 33 with no kids and I have been experiencing break through bleeding for the past THREE YEARS!!! It has gotten progressively worse. I have been on over 10 different levels of birth control pills, tried supplementing with estrogen, have had 2 sonohistorams and my regular paps, and tried the patch. My thyroid was tested as wll as a VonWillebrands factor, (all of which were normal).... I am now on no medication and am bleeding worse than before. It is so bad that I only have maybe 5 days per month without bleeding............ My doctor is confused and I am fed up.... Is there anyone out there who had a similar experience or any ideas???

I am sorry to hear about your problems. My first thought was to get a second opinion, if your Dr is running out of "things to do" than seek someone that knows what to do. My 2nd thought was Progesterone (like prometrium) Try asking your Dr about taking that for about 3/4 month on day 15-25 of your cycle... I took that and it helped me regulate my bleeding.

I also tried going on the pill and had break thru on it.. amazingly when I went off it I became more regular...go figure.

I hope you find an answer soon.. Keep searching and if your Dr isn't helping, find one that will.
