alright, now i've never really been good at/interested in biology, but now that i did read up quite a bit on this site.... i got this doubt.

when i insert my finger insided my vagina, i felt it was meeting with some resisting element. About 2 inches and a half inside. something like a small node, and it was perpendicular to the wall of the vagina. now i am wondering if thats what the 'cervix' you guys have written about feels like. Or... it could be something abnomal :~

i'd really appreciate it if someone could guide me to a useful link where i can get to know exactly what it is.

Hi there, I have a few questions for you.. Are you a virgin or do you or have your worn tampons?? If the answer is yes and no.. than I'm wondering if your hymen is still intact.. If the answer is that you aren't a virgin Have you been to a GYN for a pelvic before?? If not that is what I suggest.. I'm not sure what you are describing or what it might be.. You cervix usually is about 4 inches deep and it feels like I don't know how to describe it *L* but like you just can't go any further up.. *L* I'm prob not much help, though when in doubt.. See a dr.

I have read that the cervix is about 4 to 6 inches from the opening of your vagina and, most of the time, it feels like the end of a nose. I would suggest making an appointment with a GYN just to be sure.

Welcome!

It does sound like your cervix. As the other poster said, it has been described to feel like the end of your nose. It is possible that yours is lower down right now. It depends on what point you are at in your cycle. It don't think mine is 4-6" up there!

I'm glad to hear that you are taking the time out to explore your body. You really should know what's going on and how things work. An excellent book is Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weshler. It explains about getting pregnant or not getting pregnant by monitoring your fertility signs. But, it also explains our body very well. It's really easy to read.

Check this link out. It should help you in your exploration!
