Confused about cycle

I posted a couple of weeks ago about being very late but not pregnant. Well, I got my period on 9/28. It was almost three weeks late. So my question is, did I skip a period and just get an early one, or is this the period I was expecting on 9/9? I am just confused about how to keep track of this on my calendar, and how I might explain this to a doctor should I need to see one. Sorry if this is too complicated a question, I am just very puzzled right now. Thanks in advance!

Hi again!

I would put it as having one long cycle.

Thanks! I don't keep track of my fertility signs because I am not trying to get pregnant, so I don't really feel the need to keep track of them. I think I ovulated at the normal time. I usually get a little bit of pain when I ovulate, in about the area my ovaries should be, and I seem to remember feeling the normal pain about 13-14 days into my cycle.

In a way it was a relief to finally get my period, but at the same time it just confused me more because of the timing. I really don't have any idea why it was almost three weeks late. Another thing that puzzled me was that I had very severe cramps yesterday (9/30). About three times as bad as my normal cramps. They came on suddenly and were so bad that it actually took my breath away. I had to stop in the middle of what I was doing to lay down with the heating pad. There was also a very large clot (sorry if that is too graphic). I am thinking that it might be a good idea to see a doctor, but I don't have insurance and I just can't afford medical expenses right now.

Most places will have a local clinic, such as Planned Parenthood, that charge on a sliding scale based on your income.
