Ok this is kind of gross, but I'm going to ask anyway (and I am going to ask my doctor soon too, I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this). I usually have some small clots during my period, but since before and after I've gone on the pill, I've had some major clots or just these blobs of something. Is this normal? Is it unusual? Should I be worried? :)

I was about to ask the same sort of question, so thought I would add to yours. I just started my period after 3 months without one. I just stopped taking birth control after 20 years. Now I've finally started, but it's not the same consistency it was before. Now it's pretty dark and thick, with a globby substance too. Sorry, don't mean to be gross, but I was wondering if this is normal too?

My opinion is to see what happens next month.

Actually, I have the same thing happen to me during my period. I do not think that its something to worry about, but if you feel that its bothering you ask your doctor. I think its normal.

I often get clots during my periods. My doctor told me to take ibuprofin every four hours beginning a day or two before I'm going to start. I never know when I'm going to have a period so I can't do that but the ibuprofin has cut down on the clots. It's worth a try.

When i started bcp, my normal period before BCP went out the window. My period changed drastically. Not only did it get a lot lighter, i didn't have the normal, shall you say "flow". I would get what me and my friend like to call, "boogers" i know its gross, but it is the only way to describe them. Some are clearish brown and just there, and some are just dark brown and stringy (Sorry probably tmi)Thats completely normal. I think its even more normal if you are on a high progesterone pill (i was on loestrin and estrostep, same amounts of progesterone). You are completely normal, i wouldn't worry about it. As it may be gross, its just a way of life now. If it really bothers you, you may want to look into changing to different pills. Each pill can have a different effect on your cycle

Goodluck!
