Bacterial infections don't usually just go away on their own.

I understand where you are coming from. I used to go to my school infirmary here in GA, and she thought that if I wasn't dry as a desert, then something was wrong. Know that a slight discharge is normal although many gyn's will tell you that it isn't.(usually men):)My new gyn is really a breath of fresh air. If you definitely have something such as a bacterial infection, then there are definitely natural solutions to try. In my experience, the more medication they forced on me just aggrivated me with reactions to the meds. It was suggested that you search the net, and that is an excellent idea. Some that my new gyn suggested are diluted betadine(sp?)baths and teatree oil.(This is for yeast though, but I could imagine there are plenty for bacterial as well.) There is likely to be a ton on the net.

Angel,

Be sure you do not also have a urinary tract infection. I was once diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis while also having a bladder infection. I used the ointment (with that disgusting applicator that comes with vaginal creams!) and within the next couple of days I felt feverish and had this pinkish watery discharge. And I do mean watery!!!

Because I didn't feel comfortable with my doctor, I found another provider who diagnosed me with Pelvic Inflammatory Disease! They gave me a shot, and my symptoms disappeared. But to this day I wonder if this made me infertile and can only hope whatever I had was caught before it did major damage.

I can understand not wanting to take whatever medication the doctor wants to throw at you but you do need to be careful because bacterial vaginosis can lead to something more serious.
