Hello,

Have a question.

My boyfried has genital warts and it seems that I have now developed them. He contracted them from his ex wife...no not while we were together. ( I have known him for 8 years). We used to date 10 years ago and it did not work out. But now we are back and happier then ever. Anyways. It seems that I now have some of my own. We are both seeking treatment. But the problem is, his are going away and mine just seems to sit there. It is gross humiliating and frusterating. I don't hold blame to him or hold any anger towards him. But I have my own opinion on these pimple looking things. I am a clean freak over obsessed as he would put it.

For treatment is there any other oral stuff that I could take other then getting the burned off or lasered off. The burning does not seem to work...or maybe my gyno is afraid to hurt me. Please could someone give me some advise on this. No it is not Herpies. My gyno took a sample and said it was a form of genital warts. that starts with an M.

Yes, I am the one also who is questioning about Endometriosis...boy am I having a good year eh!!!!!

Cheers

I started using Aldara that's like the best thing out there if you don't have insurance is like $180 dollars but is worth it I guess I still have 1 refill although no more warts my Doctor gave the refill in case I get another wart you should see your doctor because they say the only thing that causes warts is HPV which is an STD you need to get checked out cause you could get more and bigger ones ask him about Aldara thats a cream you apply it at night after sex if you want and wash it off in the morning easy enough only 3 times a week until they fall off I'm sorry about your situation hope you find a solution to your problem you can email me if you like pattyorduna@yahoo.com if you have more questions about the Aldara

thank you soo much for your posting.

I did not realize how common this was. When I found out I had it I cried right there and then in the doctors office. (yes, I am a little sensative). The worst thing is every two weeks for the last three months I have had to go put my legs in the stirrup and get him to burn again. I am going to mention this Aldara to him and hopefully he will perscribe and help me get rid of it. My poor boyfriend feels awful, because everytime I come out from being treated, I end up crying because I am embarrassed. Yes I know ...get over it...lol... but through all the stuff I have been through this year it has been a bit tough to deal with.

Thank you again for you understanding

cheers

hey there! I have them too. I feel better knowing that it is very commom. I wish my boyfriend was more understanding b/c he blames me, no matter how many times I tell him that it could have been him to have had them first. There's just no way of finding that out. Anyways, I was prescribed Aldara cream. It works amazingly! There's no pain, it's just a cream that you rub into the spots where you have the warts, everyother night before going to bed, and then you just wash the cream off in the morning. Mine went away within 2-3 weeks of applying the cream. Sometimes the skin gets sensitive and sore but that's just the cream working. At first, the doc used the q-tip and chemical stuff to burn them away, it was painful and when it was over, my vag looked a mess. I kept taking a mirror and looking and it made me cry. My next check-up he noticed that a couple had come back so that's when he prescribed the cream.

My ex blamed me too, but of course, blaming doesn't do any good at all....:(

Hi there,

I'm probably older than most on the board here (46), but I've been dealing with this issue many years. I've never had anything so bad I thought of laser or burning. I'm kind of surprised, though, that no one has mentioned Valtrex here? That seems to be pretty much the standard treatment for symptoms, I thought. But then, I only have my own case to go by. I take the Valtrex and in 2-3 days, the symptoms are gone.

I'm so sorry your outbreaks are that extreme. I guess I've been lucky. Sure wish they'd educated us a little better about this stuff in the 70s!!!

BTW, I also just went through a hysterectomy scare - so my year is pretty much paralleling yours. LOL

Chrissy

You are sooo lucky that he prescibed it to you. I went through the same emotions. But mine just keeps burning with out any results.

I am going tonight and I will tell him about Aldara and hopefully he will prescribe it.

Cheers

Valtrex is used to treat herpes, which is different than gential warts.
