Endometrial Cervical Currettage ????

About 6 months ago I began having heavy breakthrough bleeding w/ clots and when consulting with my dr. papsmear was normal. I had a hysterscopy where uterine tissue samples were taken. Upon review, pathologist requested a ECC for more tissue samples to compare..........what does that mean? and what can I expect, the dr has already told me I will have a hysterectomy, does this mean I may have the "c" word? Thanks !

Having an ECC does not mean you definatly have cancer. The ECC samples the cells from the endocervical canal (up past the cervix) to see if they are abnormal or not. If they are abnormal, you will find out if it is some stage of dysplasia or possibly cancer. I wish you luck!
