Yeast Infection Medication?

I get yeast infections about once or twice a year. Diflucan, and other yeast infection medications that I've tried (such as suppositories) make me very stomach sick, and often I have to stay home from work etc. for a few days. I feel like I get the flu everytime I use one of the medications, and oftentimes I feel like I'd rather deal with the yeast infection than the treatment. Is there any other options for me?

HI there.. I am the yeast queen.. I had Yeast problems for 10+ years... I can tell you the acidophilus won't get rid of a yeast infection (not in a timely manner) but it does great at keeping the yeast away, so if you know you are taking antibiotics or something that might trigger yeast it'd be good to take it then. I use to take Yeast Fighters by Twinlabs.. they really helped me rid my body of yeast.. but that's not really what your problem sounds like. First off Diflucan is a very strong medicine.. I can't take it without getting bad headaches for days... have you tried prescription yeast creams?? I personally like Terazol its a really good one and comes in 1,3,7 days. Another thing is you have to remember that the yeast infection itself can make your stomach upset... so maybe its not always the medicine??

I do know there are a lot of alternative methods for yeast.. I personally haven't tried them cuz I like things that work NOW.

Well that's my 2 cents for what it's worth I'm not sure I helped you at all, but talk to your Dr about your sensitivity.. maybe he can recommend a different brand.

Good Luck,

GIn :)
