EVER SINCE I HAD MY 4TH BABY 6 MONTHS AGO I HAVE HAD REALLY HEAVY PERIODS. IS THIS SOMETHING I SHOULD BE CONCERNED ABOUT OR WILL IT STRAIGHTEN OUT ON ITS OWN.

I'VE BEEN TO DOCTOR FOR USUAL EXAMS AND THEY HAVE BEEN FINE BUT I DIDNT MENTION THE HEAVY PERIODS TO HIM

THANKS FOR ANY INPUT, CASSIE

Hi Hun

If after 6 months it hasnt settled down, you should really have told your doc, because with 4 kids the last thing you need is to become anaemic.

There can be causes for heavy bleeding that cant be seen or even diagnosed without further investigation.

Are you getting more pain than usual when your bleeding?

I had heavy periods for years, they just seemed to keep getting worse. Clotting and everything, and it got so bad when my period came I had to lay flat. Simple things like walking and standing were horrible!! It felt like it was pouring out. Anyways, my docter told me I didnt have to suffer with them anymore. I had a procedure done called Endometrial Ablasion. They burn thelining of your uterus. After the surgery you will either never have a period, or they will be super light. I have super light ones now that are NOTHING compared to what they were. It has improved my life completely. I hope this helps and good luck to you

Your cycle can take far more than 6 mos to adjust to whatever it will be. It is not uncommon for a new "normal" cycle to be different after each child. I would not be worried yet. However I also am unsure just how heavy we are talking.

Hey there, my periods were really heavy for the first few months, too.....I'd say to mention it to your doc next time you go, but I wouldn't be too worried just yet....
