I am 30 years old. Had my left ovary and tube removed. Three different surgeries to remove ovarian cyst on my right ovary. My only option is to take birth control pills to not have the cyst return. I have no children and more than likely can never have children. Has anyone else ever have this happen to them? I really want at least one child. But I cant stand the pain anymore been going through this for 5 yrs now. can any give me any advice?

I am supposed to have my left ovary and tube removed in december for possible endo. my question to you is after you had this done did you have any hormonal changes? And how long did it take for you to recover from it? I can no longer have children also because I have been going through the surgeries to. I wish you luck and hope it turns out for you. Hang in there.

To answer your question yes I have no sex drive, moodiness, and mild depression. It will take a good 2 months to completly heal from no pain and soreness but i still have pain on that side even though nothing is there. At least 12 days to return to some daily duties like walking, sitting comfortably(mild soreness) How long have you been going through this? I was begining to think I was the only one. Why do you have to have yours removed? I wish you luck. It changes you so much you woulndn't think so but it does. let me know how it goes.

Last Wedneday I woke up with what I thought was food poisioning, by the end of the day I was sent to the emergency room diagnosed with an 8 cm ovarian cyst. The ER brushed me off, gave me an STD test (enven though I knew I did not have one, I had been tested by the Dr. who sent me to the ER and I was in incredible pain), and sent me home with a number to call in the morning and a pain killer. I called the reccomended clinic who gave me an appointment in mid December. Totally confused and traumatized I finally called my own gynocologist who saw me immediately. She ordered some more tests and explained all of the various things that may occur. Despite bed rest and pain killers I was rushed to the emergency room exactly 1 week ago, when they opened me up I was a mess. On the left ovary I had one cyst 8 cm, one 4.3 cm, the tube had twisted 3 times, I had signs of endometriosis, and the ovary and tube had somehow moved in front of the ovary. Consequently I lost the left ovary and tube. I thought by today I was well enough to return to class but I am paying for it now. How long should this recovery be taking? My incisions are throbing and I am still too swollen to put normal or even "fat" pants on. I am growing frustrated, bored, and tired of sweat pants! I do not return to my doctor for another week and I have a million questions, from recovery to warning signs that I somehow missed, to lasting effects. Any similar stories and or reccomendations would be appreciated. Thank you!

Give yourself another week before you try to do a long day. Go for acouple of hours work yourself up to it. Even though the dr thinks it only takes a couple of days to recover from the surgery it really takes couple of weeks. The swelling will go down in about 3 weeks. If you start running a fever go to DR.
