Not sure if I'm even in the right place, but I looked and couldn't come up with anything that was exactly what I'm looking for. Anways, I have a dr's appt on thursday to check if I have low progesterone levels. AF just arrived yesterday (finally) after a really, really long and late cycle of 45 days. Totally not normal for me at all! I'm not sure if I should reschedule or not. I want to do everything right to make sure the tests come out as accurate as possible. What do you ladies think? TIA :)

I've been charting since July and have my charts posted on pregnancy.org. Since then I've been talking to some of the ladies about my charts and they seem to think that I might have low progesterone since my temps aren't very high. My last cycle was very abnormal for me. I've never had a cycle that long. I usually go between 26-33 days.

I had a feeling you would say I might want to reschedule and so I did. I called up my dr's office and spoke to a lab tech and they suggested waiting. Thanks :)

Low temperatures may also indicate a thyroid problem.

I will discuss that with her too on the 20th. Thank you so much for answering my question. I actually have another one. When I went in for my yearly, my dr. asked if I wanted to have some bloodwork done too and I said ok. Not quite sure what they tested. Do you have any idea of what they normally test for when they do bloodwork for yearly paps? I'm going to call my dr.'s office tomorrow and see if they can tell me what they tested for and hopefully they tested for low progesterone then and I can just talk to my dr. about my concerns. Thanks again.

That's a really good question.

So I called up my dr. and spoke with the nurse. She sent me the results from my blood test and it looked like just normal stuff like cholesterol levels, salt, etc. Nothing that had to do with hormones. They just tested to see if those types of things were normal which they were. So I'll be going in on the 20th for a blood test of my hormones. Hope it comes out ok.
