Hi everyone.
Last month I skipped my peroid. I have been on birth control for about 9 months now. I tested (a few times) and it was negative so I figured that it may have had something to do with all the stress I have been under for the past couple months because I have been under a lot more than normal. So this past Tuesday I should have started my peroid but I didn't. Wednesday I had a little spotting from about 10 in the morning to about 5 in the evening. It was so extremly light. I normally have a very light peroid which lasts from 24 to 36 hours but I am not sure that this would even count as a peroid because of how light it was. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of what could be happening or what I should do or if you have had any similar experience. I figured that I should make a dr appointment and see if there is anything wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks in advance

Just to clarify, did you purposely skip your period that first time, or did it just not happen?
I think testing once more is a good idea so I will do that again in a few days.

On some pills it is more common for women to skip periods (typically Loestrin, Estrostep, and Mircette, but can be others).

I am a new member also with a question. I am 43 and was on Loestrin Fe 1/20 for 4 years. The whole time I had either no periods or a tiny bit of spotting so I have no idea what my cycle (which was regular and normal before) is now!
I stopped taking it on April 4 for 2 reasons: First, we moved out of state and I have no health insurance and secondly, b/c we decided at my age, it was time to take a break from the hormones. I figured my period would be immediate and I still haven't had one! Is this normal? Two weeks ago I took a pregnancy test which came out negative. We have used condoms and I never missed a pill so there shouldn't be a problem there. However I take lots of supplements everyday (fish oil, chlorela, multi vitamins, acidophilus, Vit E, Valerian, etc) and the post said something about herbal supplements interfering with the effectiveness of the pill. In the last package of pills, for the first time it had that warning also. Which ones are a problem?
At this time in my life, I am done having children...my baby is about to turn 18 so I am very concerned. I know I should probably find a doc here but I don't know anyone to ask since we don't know anyone one here. I typed in doctor referral on Google for the Houston area and got 46 pages of 15-20 docs each and was totally overwhelmed!! I called my previous doc for a referral and she had none. To make it more complicated, I would like a doc who agrees with my health beliefs about natural medicines like herbal supplements and is located within the inner loop of the city where I live.
I have rambled but I have so many concerns!!
I appreciate any help or suggestions!
Thanks,
Laura
Hi Laura!
