very heavy period - please write me back

Hi Guys,
I hope I get alot of replies back, I'm so scared. I don't know if this is normal or not but for the past 2 periods (October and November) I've been bleeding so heavy and getting a couple blood bloobs (the size of my middle finger). I have a yearly pap smear next Thursday, November 20th. I'm 42. Please tell me there is nothing wrong with me. Do any girls on this board bleed so heavy that they need a pack of kotex for one period??? I had a sonogram done couple weeks ago and the gyno told me I have a thick lining. Please write me back and let me know if any of you girls are bleeding very heavy too. I'm on my 5th day of my period and still bleeding heavy. Will I pass out eventually from bleeding too much???? Please write me back. Thank you so much. I need many replies back. I'm freaking. Laura/NJ

Hey Laura.
Deep breaths!
Hi Laura... Don't let yourself get too upset.. it can be perfectly normal to pass rather large sized clots.

You're also at that age where things start changing...somewhere in a woman's late 30's or early 40's her periods can change, sometimes significantly, as her hormone production starts to get flaky (it can still take years to get to menopause, don't worry).
