Painfull sex

I've been having a problem the past couple of days with sex being really painful. I can't even enjoy sex with my boyfriend. It started right after I finished a seven day treatment for Streptococcus Group B which is a bacterial infection that isn't really serious unless you're pregnant, which I might be, but that's a completely different story. But every since I finished the medicine I've been really ichy and sore as hell. I've also been really dry, and I usually don't have that problem at all. Is this something that I should call my doctor about? Do you think I might have a yeast infection. I've had yeast infections before and it's never been painful to have sex when I have one, so I'm not sure. Please if someone could give me advice and let me know what they think it maybe be, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

If you just finished a round of antibiotics, then it's quite possible you have a yeast infection.

can antibiotics really give you a yeast infection? I never knew that... and even if it is a yeast infection, can't i just treat it with over the counter stuff?

It's VERY common for a women to get a yeast infection while being treated with antibiotics.

Hi!

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems! I know where you're coming from, though! Everytime I go on an antibiotic or strong medication, my body doesn't adjust well and I get a raging yeast infection. First of all, if you suspect a yeast infection, don't have unprotected sex, as it could spread to your boyfriend. Secondly, if you have never had a yeast infection before, go to your doctor to have it diagnosed! These medicines that they make these days can be potent, so there's no telling what side effects can come from them. If you are dry and itchy, you may have a yeast infection, which would definitely put a damper on your sex life! To help the dryness, there are some OTC things you can buy that will help. I could definitely consider trying a yeast infection treatment, though. Better safe than ITCHY! Good luck to you!
