Hi everyone!

New to your board, but I'm really glad I've found it. My period ended last Sunday and on friday night I felt like I was discharging a little (not unusual for me) and when I wiped it was tinged with blood. Yesterday and today there is still that pinkish/brownish end of period stuff, once or twice with a little red, I'm slightly achey in my lower back and pelvic area like during my period, but there's no cramping. This has never happened to me before and I'm very frightened. I'm a panicker by nature. I'm 29, just had a baby 5 months ago and my periods have been regular since. I do remember thinking this month seemed slightly heavier than usual. I had a pap in October which was fine, but I know that doesn't check your uterus or ovaries (see, I told you I'm a panicker). I'm under a lot of stress lately and read that it can cause irregular bleeding. Is that true? Can stress really cause bleeding?? I've also been very emotional lately, tearing up at the slightest sad thought or commercial. I know there can be so many causes and I'm trying to be rational. But the thought of something being really wrong is making my stress even worse. Is irregular bleeding often a sign of cancer or is it really usually other things?

I appreciate any response.

Welcome Jess!

I'm sure it's nothing to worry about so try to calm down.

HI Jess! I wouldn't panic. I recently had a baby as well, and usually after my period I have the exact same thing for a couple of days, and then it goes away. :)

If you really feel concerned, you may want to check with your doctor, but I think it's probably okay!

Also, my periods were regular but very heavy at first after I had the baby. Could that be part of it?

Hi! I'm slightly calmer and saner now. Thank you so much for your responses. I was able to get an appt. today with my doctor. There was no spotting today at all and she said everything was normal upon examination. She's going with stress and said just to watch that it doesn't happen again and she's sending me to have my thyroid checked (my request), but it was probably just a fluke. On another note, she told me that after I gave birth my platelet count came back borderline low. She said that it was probably just from pregnancy/labor since it was always normal otherwise, but wants me to get it checked anyway to see if it's back to normal. Since we've already established that I'm paranoid, you can guess I'm slightly concerned. (Although, it's been five months and if she was really concerned I think she would have had it rechecked sooner.) Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I had the exact thing happen to me a couple weeks ago. My period had ended on a Sunday and I started bleeding again on Thursday. I had spotting for 3 days. I also get just worried sick over things like that. I called my dr. and they didn't seem concerned at all. I was scheduled for a pap the next week and talked in greater detail with my nurse practioner then. Again, she brushed it off really. She thought it was ovulation bleeding - although I'm sure I do not ovulate that early in my cycle. She said for me to monitor and let her know if it happens next month. They could do a biopsy then just to be sure. Of course, I'm very worried for next month to come. Also, I am anxiously waiting the results of my pap.

I am glad to hear I am not the only one who worries to much. I'm sure we are fine. How many days did you bleed? Was it light/spotting or heavy?
