New here. Question about a surgery.

Hi everyone. I had a laproscopy today for endometriosis. I have had two prior and the 2nd time, my former doctor recommended a hysterectoomy. He based this on the amount of endometriosis and that fact that I have had a surgery for cervical cancer which left me with a cervix that kept closing and required multiple dncs. I wasn't ready to go that route, so I went to about 10 ob/gyns until I found someone who didn't just want an easy way out. Here I am a year and a half later, a newlywed with a mostly "normal" cervix and we want to have babies. I had the surgery today, to evaluate my fertility and to answer some questions about the abdominal pain I have been having. My doctor told my husband that aside from some adhesions that are attaching my uterus to my intestines and bladder, he doesn't see a problem with us getting pregnant, as my ovaries and tubes look great. HOWEVER, I do need to have another, more invasive surgery to remove the adhesions. My doctor told my husband that I will need a rather large incision and need to be admitted to the hospital for a few days. So my rather long winded question is this.... do any of you have experience with this type of surgery? I didn't really get to ask my Dr all the questions I have for him as I was coming out of the drug induced blur. I understand each situation is unique, but I am wondering how long of a recovery time is standard for this type of thing. Thanks in advance for any ideas/information.
