postpartum question

I posted this on the ob/gyn and haven't gotten a response. I hope someone will have some insight. I had a baby on July 29, 2003. I had an episotomy. At my six week check up my gyno said I healed up nicely, and it was only a small cut anyway. Well, my baby is 4 months now. I find intercourse in general to be less painful. But my hubby has to enter me higher up near my clit. If he does it lower near my perineum it is very painful. Mainly tender. My question is how long can I expect it to be so tender? We are limited on positions. Please if anyone has any insight.

Yes the pain is in the same area as the episotomy. But I don't have a scar there. I pushed on that area and it felt like scar tissue on the inside. It was tender feeling from the inside. I have not asked my doctor because I figured it was still too early to be expecting it to be painless. I just figured since it healed up okay that it shouldn't hurt. I plan to wait until the six month mark and see if it's any better. Thanks for your response.

Thanks. The webpages were helpful. Looks like I might need to visit my doctor! I also post at the Motherhood and Sexuality board. Bye.

yeah, I think it's probably been more than enough time for you to feel better! I hope your doctor can help you figure it out!
