Can one get a yeast infection from tampons? I only ask this because last month and the month before that, it felt like I had one a day or so after my period ended. It burned, too, which at first I thought it was a UTI. I bought the monistat 7 suppositories, and it made it go away. On Monday, I finished Cefetin (SP?) for 5 days because I had sinus surgery on the 19th and had to take the antibiotics as a precaution. Saturday, I was a bit itchy and burning. So, I had some left over Monistat ( i never did finish the last month). The tampons I had used were the pearl ones, but I bought the scented by mistake. Would the scented ones cause irritation too?

Has anyone used the Azoo Yeast Pills too? To relieve the symptoms.

Sometimes scented tampons and pads can cause irritation.

how would i know if it is a bacterial vaginosis yeast infection, or just your 'plain old one'?? I dont have the cottage cheese effect of a typical one. Just discharge, a little yellowish if you ask me, but itchy. Would monistat clear this, or do I call my ob/gyn for the prescription cream?

Itchy is usally indicative of yeast, though not always.

Just a small technical detail--bacterial vaginosis is a bacterial infection, a yeast infection is an overgrowth of yeast, two very different organisms!
