Long Period?

I just found this board after asking my question over on parent's place NFP board....but I found you and thought someone here might have some advice!
So.........I'm on cycle day 10, and I'm still having light cramping and sporadic red blood flow/ spotting. It's been off and on like this for about 4 days. My period is usually pretty "normal" - about 2-3 days of heavier flow, with 2-3 days of progressive tapering off. (The first part of this cycle was pretty normal.) The ONLY other time (that I can remember) that I had an extended period was when I had a uterine tumor (about 1 1/2 years ago). At that time, my period just kept on going, and around day 8 or 9, all hell broke loose - I hemorraged, then had to have surgery to remove the tumor. Also, I do not, and never have, used hormonal contraception. Oh, and I'm 30.
Anyway, does this sound like anything to anyone? I don't know what to think. My experience with the tumor caused me to be pretty skittish when it comes to unusual blood flow.....but at the same time, since it's more like heavy spotting, I don't want to go running to my doc.
The other bit of info is that I started taking a multivitamin around cycle day 2. In it was high doses of b vitamins, and very low doses of some herbs (dong quai, rrl, black cohosh. LOW doses, though).....I stopped taking it two days ago because it occurred to me that it was messing me up.
Oh, and the one other-other bit of info is that I've been VERY VERY stressed (travel, sleep deprived, emotional, massive & scary car problems, etc.) for the last 6 days or so. I know that stress causes cycle irregularities, but can it really make you BLEED more?
Thanks for any thoughts,
Suzanne.
ADDENDUM: I'm now on cycle day 12, and the bleeding has completely stopped. I still feel crampy, though, and am not having any cm whatsoever (which I usually start getting around this time in preparation for O) At any rate, I'm still interested in knowing if anyone has any thoughts about what could have happened. Does it sound hormonal? What could cause a sudden hormonal imbalances? Also, I had a gyno exam (just a manual exam; not an ultrasound) about 3 weeks ago and my doctor didn't detect any fibroids or anything.
???

Welcome!
