Is it normal to consistently have a really heavy period with a lot of clotting? Every time I go pee, there are lots of clots as well as when I change. Somebody help!

Clotting is usually very normal and nothing to worry about.

I thought I'd add my two cents here, since I've had to deal with this the past couple years. After having my second child almost 3 years ago, my periods became heavier and heavier each month. As you indicated, I also started passing clots along with the normal bleeding. Again, each month, things got worse -- bleeding was heavier, clots became larger, and overall, things were more painful than ever! I finally saw my gynecologist, and learned that my uterus was twice it's normal size and boggy. All of my symptoms pointed to adenomyosis. I opted for a hysterectomy, and I couldn't be happier with that decision. I'm only 31, but since we knew that we were done having children, it was the perfect option for me. I'm not even remotely suggesting a hysterectomy for you, but I am suggesting that you see your doctor if the clotting is a new symptom. Clotting can be normal for some women, but it can also be a symptom of numerous gynecological concerns (i.e., endo, adeno, fibroids, polyps, etc.).

You have plenty of sympathy from me -- that clotting business is yucky!
