cervical fertile fluid question

I was reading a book about fertility and the doctor was talking about during the month different types of discharge are emitted and each kind can tell when you are fertile or not, or are good predictors. Like no discharge just after and before your period are less fertile time and the type that is gooey and forms a circle on your underpants is the fertile time. I used to get that gooey kind but it has stopped. It's like I don't have discharge anymore. Is that a sign of infertility?

I use the Fertility Awareness Method of birth control and daily chart my cervical postion, firmness, and mucus changes as well as temperature in the a.m. Some cycles I have more wet (or gooey) days and some I have more dry days. Diet, stress and medication can all affect your hormone levels which can affect your discharge.
I also don't always have a discharge that is noticable outside the vagina, but if I check at the cervical opening I can tell wether or not I am going to ovulate or if I have already. I find it a great way to plan or prevent pregnancy. I also like knowing exactly where I am in my cycle and I'm currently using my charts to see if I am starting to suffer from PMS. There is a great book on the market that tells you all about FAM and your fertility. It's called Taking Charge of Your Fertility. I can't remember the author's name. This is a great book if you want to learn more about fertility.
Hope this helps.
