I was on the depo shot for 7 years and took my last on in Aug 2003. I still haven't started my cycle and I'm ready to try and have a baby. I was told that you couldn't conceive without a cycle so I start the pill, I finished a whole pack and still no cycle. What can I do to get start? I really need help. I also have endometrosis and just had a fibroid removed about a month ago,

I used Depo after my second child. The problem with Depo is that even after youstop using it it can take along time for your cycles to start up again. You may have "periods" but they are actually something called anovulatory episodes meaning you didn't ovulate but shed the lining anyway. I had several of these before I actually ovulated. Unfortunately there is no way to tell how long it will take for your cycles to return to normal, it could be as long as two years. I was shocked when I found that out after I have already been on the shot. :/

My personal experience was I had my last shot on June 28th 2001 and didn't ovulate til the next January 8th.(which resulted in pregnancy)

Do you chart your cycles at all? It can really help to know where you are at. I would be happy to explain how or where to get help with it if you want to know.

And as far as conceiving with no cycle, you can't conceive without ovulating, whether or not you had a bleed.

Hope this helps youa bit.

1st time I was on depo I was on 5 yrs. Took 3 yrs after Iwent off to get af(aunt flow) again. I even did 2 150mg shots of provera...nothing.

2nd time I was on it 9 months and it took 6 months to get af back.

3rd tiome I was on it (after losing about 70 lbs) I was on it for one shot and it didnt' take any time to have af...actually had it for 20 days:( I wish you luck.
