Question about irregular period

Hello! I am new and have a question. I have PCOS, I am sure many of you know what that is, but for those of you who don't it is a pretty common syndrome in women that can cause many symptoms such as hair loss, weight gain and infertility. I have had PCOS for years and have suffered practically all of the symptoms that go along with it. Well over a year ago I decided to go on the pill to bring back my period because I hadn't had one for three years or so. I went on Yasmin and immediately saw results. My PCOS symtoms got better and my period was very regular, exact same day every month, and always 3 days long. Well about 3 months ago I began a strict diet and excercise plan (I was about 40lbs overweight). I have been losing weight very rapidly and lost 13 lbs in the first two weeks. After the weight loss began, my period came a week early that month, and the blood was dark brown and thick. It was usually red and pretty light. (Sorry if this is graphic). I didn't think anything of it because it was only a week early, noth that big a deal. Well this period came two weeks early and I have been bleeding now for over two weeks with no signs of slowing down. The blood is still dark brown and thick. I have no cramps or other symptoms. I took a pregnancy test to be safe and it was negative. If anyone has any ideas or answers that would be great!

Thanks,

R

Welcome!

Diet and exercise can have an impact on our cycle and the way we metabolize things like birth control pills.
