Can a elevated prolactin level increase

I am in just about in my 4th month pregnant! First child! I had a hard time getting pregant because of an elevated prolactin level They fixed it with meds and concieved after 2 months! I've been reading that this could also cause miscarriages and am wondering why my OB said it was alright to stop them. I also started today having a light brown discharge no cramps or any pain! I plan on calling MD tomorrow, but what a heads up to get a good nights sleep! Thanks, Jenn

YOu're the first person I've seen on here, besides myself, with elevated prolactin, so I just had to say "HI!". And Congratulations!!!! Though I don't think I can answer your questions, as I was diagnosed AFTER my kids were born (DS-15, DD-12), even though I had symptoms before DS was conceived. Symptoms were a lot worse after DS was born and DD took almost a year to conceive. I did start dilating at 6 months with both pregnancies, DS was born 2 weeks early, DD was born on time according to OB-GYN, or 2 weeks LATE according to pediatrician? Both were totally healthy.
I think a lot depends on what your prolactin level was before you started meds and what your tumor size was. My prolactin after diagnosis has ranged from 44-57, and I only recently started Dostinex. I've had irregular periods (skipping 2-3 months, none for
1 1/2 year, and even non-stop spotting for 1 1/2 year!) since I was about 15, and galactorrhea since after DS was born, but couldn't find a dr to treat it.
Anyway, I don't think you'll find any answers here, but try over on the msn pituitary boards. There are a number of women TTC, pregnant, or had kids with pit tumors. I'm sure you can find an experienced support group over there.

I hope that helps! Best of luck to you and come back and let me know how it goes!
