ovarian cyst/abdominal pain

Hello,
I'm hoping someone can provide some insight into my symptoms. A little over a month ago I had abdominal pain so bad I went to the ER thinking I had appendicitis. I had a cat scan, and it came back that I had a 4 cm ovarian cyst. The drs. there said that was what was probably causing my pain, told me to make an appt. with my ob/gyn and sent me home.
Two days later, I had a drs appointment (my pain was still there, but not quite as severe), and my dr. said she couldn't feel anything unusual, but it was still tender and sent me for a pelvic ultrasound. Now, I waited for a week for that ultrasound for the results to come back and say "The cyst is gone." Now, please tell me what was causing my pain for that whole week if the cyst was gone??
I was referred to my PCP, but she checked my ultrasound, said it looked ok, wanted me to schedule a follow up ultrasound in 6 weeks. I then went back because I was having pain on my right side--she said it was probably gallbladder spasms (it was happening after eating), and that was that. My pain was gone for about a week after that
Then it started again. I looked at my calendar, and it was time for me to be ovulating. Is it possible that the cyst came back that quickly? Or is it more likely I have endometriosis? I have another drs appointment in a couple weeks, I will bring all of this up then, just curious if anyone has any insight from personal experience.
Thanks!
Sam
