Hello :) I'm very familiar with IV message boards on the pregnancy and parenting channel but don't often look around the others. I thought this might be a good place to get some more info...
Up until we started ttc our 3rd child in August 2006, my health history has been pretty boring. Normal periods. 2 easily conceived babies and perfect births... etc.. Since then however, we have had one miscarriage and one ectopic rupture loss. With the ectopic I had to have emergency surgery that removed my right tube but left the ovary. Within a month after that i had to take methotrexate because they missed something in surgery and my hcg was not falling to zero. At that time they also found a 5cm hemorrhagic cyst on the right ovary. The Doctor this whole time has been so laid back about EVERYTHING it's driving me nuts. They didn't suggest any follow up and insisted it would go away.
Well. Its been 8 months. I still have pain every month for about 10 days mid cycle and then a few days before my period as well. Its distinctively near my right ovary and gets pretty intense for a few days every month. My periods have been much lighter since all this happened-- used to be 7 days with 5 being heavy, now is 1-2days medium and spotting for 5+ days more. PMS seems pretty exaggerated as well.
Is this something that will go away like they say? Should I be forcing the issue? Is this what a cyst feels like? Another possibility is that when my tube ruptured they said that it had an endometriosis blockage in it-- so could this be more of that? Just looking for experiences ;)
I feel like I can barely function when its like this. It saps so much energy and ibuprofen or tylenol do nothing for it. Now I do not have insurance and probably won't for 10 more months unless we actually get pregnant again which qualifies as a change in family. I don't want to be running up doctors bills if its nothing and not have them do anything to help....AGAIN....
