Help! Bladder Doesn't Empty

For the past few weeks I've noticed that my bladder isn't emptying. I have to strain and push to finish and sometimes even that takes a while. It's not all the time but often enough that I noticed it. I had a complete hysterectomy in 1994 and in 2000 I had my bladder pulled up. I think that the term was a cystocele and a rectocele but for that I had urine leaking all the time. This time, there's only a little bit of stress leakage. However, I do have severe urgency problems. I've been diagnosed with interstitial cystitis (in 1994) but after the initial diagnosis, I've remained pretty much without the painful part of the symptoms although right now I'm in the "go to the bathroom every 5-10 minutes" phase.
I'm only 43 years old but I have several chronic health problems. Now with this latest thing I'm afraid to go to the doctor. I'm not even sure what kind of doctor to see! With all that is going on with me (RA to accompany everything else), I'm feeling overwhelmed and I just want to ignore everything in hopes that at least this will go away!
Help! Should I even bother to try to see a doctor or wait til this gets worse? Is there anything I can look up on the internet about whatever this is? What should I look up? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Rhonda and welcome to the board.
I'm not sure that I can help you very much but I will give it a try.
