two periods a month?

I'm 36...37 in a few days. I have two children, and I have a history in endometriosis. After our last dd I went on depo for a year, then switched to the nuvaring and used it as continuous birth control for pain management for little over a year. (had terrible periods). I went off bc completely last August because we decided to let a pregnancy happen if it was going to. So in the last 6 months, my period has shortened to 2-3 days long, then a full week passes and it starts up again for a day or two. What on earth could be going on? The second time is much shorter and I have no cramping or tenderness at all, but the first is a normal period - but no cramps like I used to have.
The first couple of months it was so light I thought maybe ovulation spotting, but the last few months it's more like a period on a light to moderate day. My cycles are like clockwork too. 28 days on the nose.
Thanks,
Jen

Hi Jen and welcome.
I also would suggest ovulation spotting but since it is so heavy, I am wondering if your endo is causing you some problems.
