Can low hormones cause infections?

Or, are my hormones low as a result of my cervical infection?

I have an appointment next Thursday, a follow up appointment to consult with my doctor of what is going on with me.  My period was three weeks late when I finally went to the doctor for a pregnancy test.  I had many symptoms similar to pregnancy, sore boobs, nausea, frequent urination, etc.

So, the pregnancy test came back negative, but, they said one of my hormones was low.  I am still waiting the results of my pap, but, they said that my cervix was infection.  They put me on an antibiotic and a cream to clear up the cervical infection, and, they put me on progesterone to induce a period to flush out everything in my system.

My question, do you think I got an infection as a result of everything "sitting" in me?

I am getting a bit worried, most of my tests have come back, but, they are still waiting on some blood work and my pap results.  All the STD cultures & blood work came back negative (which, I was not worried about as I have been married for 7 1/2 years).  Some of my symptoms mirror cervical cancer symptoms.  I have been complaining for two months now to my hubby about my knee & my ankle hurting & aching & being swollen.  I am trying to relax though, until I hear definite results.  Tomorrow will be 4 business days, 6 days since my visit, and, they are still awaiting my pap.  Do the paps take longer than the other tests, or, do you think that maybe they found something abnormal and are doing more testing?

What are some questions I need to ask the doctor regarding my low hormones & the cervical infection?  I have a list I am working on and adding to, but, I would appreciate any feedback you may have as well.  I don't know where this cervix infection came from, and, up until now, I was like clockwork with my periods.  I have had no major changes in my lifestyle, and, have always had a very regular 28 day cycle.

Thanks!

Hi balletshana and welcome to the board.

I'm not sure that one thing has to do with the other at all.
