Could this be ovarian cysts?...

Hi there...
Last year I ended up in the ER due to very severe pains, had both abdominal and transvaginal ultrasounds done, and it turned out that I was dealing with ovarian cysts and a rupture of a cyst. That was the first time I've heard that I had ovarian cysts.
I had my gyn appt back in January, and during the exam nothing was felt at the time, I wasn't really dealing with much pelvic pain then.
Now, however, I feel sharp twinges on occasion, especially in my left side, and am thinking that it's ovarian pains. At night while I'm laying on my back sometimes I feel these sharp pains and they're accompanied by what feels like pinches in the same side of my back at the same time as the ovarian twinges. It's really weird!
Can I assume that this is ovarian cyst pain again? It hasn't become severe to the point of needing a trip to the ER again, thankfully. I will be calling my gyn on Monday about it. Oh... I'm on Yaz (for PMDD only), have been on it for over a year and a half now. Isn't the pill actually supposed to "prevent" or help with ovarian cysts? LOL... I am quite clueless about the pill at times. Since I'm taking it only for PMDD purposes I don't care about the how's, what's, and why's of it -- I realize that sounds sort of bad, but the thing is, it's saving my life and that's pretty much all that matters to me. My PMDD is so severe that without the Yaz, I'm suicidal.

Hi Vida,
I read your message and I wouldn't wait until Monday to call the gyno. I'm having the same problem right now and I've been back to the gyno 2 times two weeks and tomorrow, I'm havin an ultrasound to see if it is cysts.
Hi Vida, it's good to see you but I'm sorry you are having pains.
What you describe sounds like it could be ovarian cysts but I am a little confused since you are on the Yaz.
