Absolutely no 'free' days!

Hello! I'm Elaine from Malaysia, I'm 35, Chinese and a Christian.

My problem is this,  I had very heavy periods in my teens. Then I got sick and had to take some meds which stopped my periods for 3 years (Yay! I thought, I'm free!). Well, about a year ago, the doctor said I don't need those meds anymore and she said those meds are not mean to be taken long term so my periods came back about 9 months ago.

Now, I said I had heavy periods in teens but when I hit my 20s, they became lighter. But in March and April, they became almost as heavy as they were in my teens! Should I be concerned? And I usually have problem free periods, maybe a little diarrhea and bloating but no cramps. Well, in March & April 2008, I had menstrual cramps for the 1st time in my life. It didn't stop me from work but I still hate them and don't want them. Why  now after so long? Should I be concerned?

And in April 2008, my period started around the 24th of Arpil, 2008, but now I'm getting copious yellow discharge! Why?! Can't I be free from pantiliners for at least 2 weeks?! Must I suffer everyday of my life!? If it's not heavy periods, it's icky, uncomfy and 'wet down there feeling' discharge during the rest of the month! Pantiliners are expensive! And I need to use them almost everyday! Sometimes, I wish I were a man! Shaving every morning is not so bad!

Oh, btw, the yellow discharge doesn't smell bad, so I'm sure it's not UTI. However it smells like period. Oh, and 1 more thing. I understand that our cycle is 28 days, so how come I get my periods after 20-23 days? It's not fair! This means that I get periods more often then other women with normal cycles. I HATE being a woman!

Thanks for listening, I just had to vent!

Please answer me someone! I need to know if I'm normal or if I really need to see a gynae!

You need to see a GYN. This kind of bleeding and a yellow discharge would never be considered normal. I suggest you try to get to the bottom of what the real cause is of your menstrual issues. You may need an ultrasound of the pelvic area and the vagina plus blood and other tests to help determine what is happening.
