Spotting...from BV or from treatment?

Hi everyone,
I have been dealing with BV since Sept...off/on..mainly on...I had a miscarriage last summer and I am assuming the BV is from that..my system has been totally messed up...hormones off balance..you name it..I have never had BV before...
I have used (tried) to use the Metrogel..but I always end up with a horrible yeast infection..and bleeding...this last time I was given Clindesse...and again I started spotting...I called the Dr. to advise and she said it was not uncommon...now it is 10 days later...I don't know if that is what is SUPPOSED to happen...is it part of your body's way of getting rid of the BV..?? As in, shedding? It started out kind of bright pink...now it's it's more brownish like around the beginning or ending of a period...
My BCP has also been changed a couple of times lately to try to get my hormones back in balance..but I wasn't spotting until I started using the Clindesse/or Metrogel..so I really don't think it's a bcp issue...
Anyway, I just thought I'd wait it out another week or so until I get my "scheduled" period and then see what happens after that before I schedule another visit with my Dr. She didn't seem too alarmed by the spotting...but now, almost 2 weeks after using the Clindess, my original symptoms are still present...I still have a different "smell"..and a little irritation inside....arrrghhh- soooo frustrating!!!
Would love to hear from anyone who has has similiar experience or has any insight as to whether the spotting is normal.....
Thanks!

Thank you for your reply...yes, it has been an ongoing battle..and now we are switching my bc AGAIN...bc I am having too many headaches, etc. on my non hormone day pills..so now we are going to try Seasonique...(3 month bcp)...so we will see how this one goes!
I am getting ready to start my period..so I am just going to wait til this cycle is over and see if the BV symptoms are any better...this has been the most frustrating, viscious cycle I have ever been through! =(( I have been tested for everything, and told by my PCP in January, and now my new OB/Gyn that I do have BV..recently she said it was "very mild"...but the Clindesse didn't seem to work.
I will see her again after my cycle and discuss other treatment options..and like you suggested possibly the 7 day treatment.
