pain- o-ring or vaginismus?

I'm in my late 20's and I have been having severe pain during intercourse. It is very rare when I will muster up the courage to have intercourse again... which the act in itself doesn't last long at all. I brought this up with a gyn. she found nothing wrong. I switched gyn. and this one mentioned I have a thick hymen-oring... (inside vagina) she said would need minor surgery. I did not want to go that route. I went to her the next year for a follow-up and mentioned the pain again. She now thinks I do not need surgery but to just put up with the pain for real just the one time then after that I will no longer have the pain. She said the hymen o-ring is very stretchy, etc. So, not thrilled about putting up with the pain... haven't had the courage for an intercourse attempt again with my husband. I just went to the gyn. this past week. Anyway, was reading up and actually thought to mention this to the gyn of vaginisums, but forgot.

I'm just curious if it will be like some miracle of no more pain if I should just put up with it for just one time. I doubt it... I mean I have pain each time and it gets no better...we stop soon after the pain starts. Once in awhile I'll try to go longer but it is the same thing each time.

Just bumping this up... I'll try posting this on another board as well. Hopefully my issue isn't this rare that no one has a clue either lol

Hi bluepen23 and welcome to the board.

In general, intercourse should not be painful.
